Showing Up Matters: Why Family Events Are Changing How I Parent

As a full-time father and the Co-Founder of Baby Yoyito, I’ve learned something important: raising kids is a lot easier when you’re not trying to do it alone. The moments that have helped me the most as a parent haven’t come from a shopping cart or a screen—they’ve come from showing up to real-life community events, meeting other families, and not being afraid of asking honest questions face-to-face. This means being realistic with yourself, your partner, and the community of people in your lives that you know and trust with your children.

That’s why I believe every parent should experience at least one baby or parenting expo. Yes, you’ll see plenty of strollers, diaper bags, and baby gear. But what you really walk away with is connection, confidence, and the reminder that you’re part of a bigger village.

Why Family and Baby Expos Feel Different as a Parent

Parenting can be beautiful, exhausting, and isolating—all at the same time. Especially in those early months, it’s easy to feel like everyone else has it figured out but you. When you step into a community event or baby expo, that illusion disappears.

You see parents or expecting parents who are just as tired, just as curious, and just as eager to learn as you are. You get to ask, “Is this normal?” and hear “Yes, me too.” You discover resources and support you didn’t even know existed. No blog (not even this one!) can replace the feeling of being in a room full of people who truly get it.

That’s why Baby Yoyito is proud to be part of several family-focused events this season—because our brand was built on real families, real conversations, and real needs.

The Baby Expo – Pasadena, CA

March 7, 2026 – The Baby Expo | Pasadena, CA

Hosted at the historic Shakespeare Club in Pasadena, The Baby Expo is designed with young families in mind. It brings together trusted baby brands, local resources, and family-focused education all under one beautiful, welcoming roof.

As a parent, this kind of event is gold. You can:

  • See and touch baby gear in person

  • Ask questions about what actually fits your car, your home, and your lifestyle

  • Compare options for things like diaper bags, strollers, and carriers without endless scrolling

Whether you’re planning, expecting, or already deep into toddler life, this event gives you the chance to explore baby products and parenting support in a way that’s personal and hands-on—not just another online review.

Stronger Together: High Desert Family & Birthworker Expo

March 28, 2026 – Stronger Together: High Desert Family & Birthworker Expo

This event is all about family wellness—from pregnancy and birth to postpartum and beyond. It’s a place where families, birthworkers, healthcare professionals, and community organizations come together to support one another. It’s FREE and open to the entire community and it’s located at the Victor Valley College Event Center.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Educational workshops and inspiring speakers

  • Community resource tables with real, practical support

  • Birthworker and family services all in one place

  • Breakfast and lunch provided

  • A warm, inclusive atmosphere where questions are welcome

As both a dad and a small business owner, events like this mean a lot to me. They’re a reminder that parents deserve more than just products—they deserve community, care, and clear information. When a community invests in families like this, everyone benefits.

Pride and Parenthood Family Expo – Los Angeles, CA

April 26, 2026 – Pride and Parenthood Family Expo | Los Angeles, CA

This event is especially close to my heart because it celebrates what my wife and I believe parenting is really about: love, inclusion, and belonging. The Pride and Parenthood Family Expo will be located at the Los Angeles LGBT Center, welcomes LGBTQ+ parents and allies into a space designed to honor and support all kinds of families.

You’ll find community resources, parenting tools, and the comfort of knowing you’re surrounded by people who respect and celebrate your family’s story. As a family-owned brand, it’s important to us that every parent feels seen and supported.

What Parents Really Take Home From These Events

Baby expos and family events are not just about shopping for baby gear (though you’ll definitely find things that make life easier). They’re about:

  • Talking directly to brands and experts

  • Seeing demonstrations and asking questions in real time

  • Discovering local resources you might never find on your own

  • Gaining confidence in the baby products you choose for your family

  • Building friendships and community connections that last beyond the event

When you leave, you’re not just carrying brochures and samples—you’re carrying new ideas, new tools, and the reassurance that you’re not doing this alone.

Why Baby Yoyito Shows Up

At Baby Yoyito, we’re a small, family-owned brand built on the real-life needs of parents who are juggling kids, work, sleep, and everything in between. We don’t just want to send products out into the world—we want to meet the families who use them.

That’s why we show up at baby expos and community events:

  • To listen to your questions and challenges

  • To show you how our diaper bags and travel accessories work in real life

  • To learn what would make your day-to-day parenting easier

When you stop by our table, you’re not just meeting a brand—you’re meeting a dad, a family, and a team that truly cares about how you’re doing.

A Simple Tip for Your First Baby Expo

If this will be your first family or baby expo, here’s my honest dad advice:

  • Bring a comfortable bag (yes, your Baby Yoyito diaper bag is perfect for this).

  • Wear shoes you can walk in all day.

  • Don’t be afraid to ask “silly” questions—there’s no such thing in parenting.

  • Give yourself permission to wander, learn, and connect at your own pace.

These events are about more than baby gear. They’re about relationships, community, and finding your people. My hope is that you walk away feeling informed, supported, and inspired—not just as a parent, but as part of a much larger family.

If you see Baby Yoyito at an event this spring, please come say hi. I’ll probably be the proud dad behind the table, happy to talk about kids, travel, diaper bags, and how we can make your everyday parenting just a little bit easier.
